Ranbir in South blockbuster ‘Magadheera’ remake

These days we are coming across several projects in Bollywood that are remakes of some hit south projects. While few top stars are busy in such films currently, latest to join the remake bandwagon is our Youngistan handsome Ranbir Kapoor.

Buzz is that Ranbir has been approached for the remake of 2009 Telugu super hit film 'Magadheera', starring Ram Charan and directed by SS Rajamouli. The Hindi version will also be helmed by Rajamouli and produced by Madhu Mantena and Allu Arvind. According to sources, the producer wanted to sign in the likes of Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Shahid Kapoor. However things didn't work as planned and finally Madhu went for Ranbir who is also associated with Madhu's brand management company.

Sources believe that Katrina Kaif will play opposite Ranbir, for the leading lady which was played by Kajal Agrawal in the original. For the records, 'Magadheera' is a reincarnation story that travels 400 years back and forth. The film is about a warrior who lived at a time when Mughals ruled a part of North India around the 17th century. The warrior falls in love with the princess he is to protect but they both die only to be reincarnated again 400 years later. The film had created records by being the highest grosser movie in Telugu.

It is said that Ranbir will feature here in double avatars. And to match the script's character, the actor has been asked to work on his body to get into a macho shape.

However, one has to wait for the confirmation from the concerned parties…. So stay tuned…

Ranbir Kapoor carries forward the legacy of Bollywood's first family

Mumbai, Oct 18 (ANI): Memories were stirred and nostalgia ran high when first Bollywood family got together to herald the entry of fourth generation heir Ranbir Kapoor to the celluloid world legacy.

Ranbir is making his cinematic debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ISaawariya, which is being touted as one of the most eagerly, awaited films of 2007.

Ranbir said he was honored to have debuted in Saawariya.

"The honor and respect is awesome. I promise you that I will strive to work harder so that you can always say I was worthy of this debut," he said.

Speaking about his son's debut, Rishi Kapoor said, "I am very happy that I am associated with a family that has stayed connected to the Indian film industry for the past 80 years. I am very grateful to the fans for their sustained support and would like to introduce the newest member of the family. It is my son Ranbir. I hope he makes a mark with his debut appearance on the silver screen."

"I am very happy and proud that another member of our family is making his mark in the film industry. I pray to God and also appeal to the audience that they accept him and give him their love and support. I hope he carves a niche through hard work and dedication," said his uncle, Rajeev Kapoor.

Said to be inspired from Dostoevsky's short story 'White Nights', Saawariya is an intense tale of two young star-crossed lovers from different religions.

Bhansali has raised expectations by saying that the film has a special allure.

It was in 1931, that Kapoor family patriarch, Prithviraj Kapoor donned the grease paint for a supporting role in the first talkie Alam Ara, and then moved on to perform in some of the most memorable films of his times.

A pioneer of Indian theatre, he also founded Prithvi Theatres which is active even today.

After Prithviraj Kapoor, his three sons, Raj, Shammi and Shashi Kapoor went onto create waves in Indian cinema with Raj Kapoor established himself as a legendary actor, producer, director in Bollywood. He is still remembered for providing the film industry with some of the most entertaining blockbusters.

Raj Kapoor's legacy was carried forward by his three sons Randhir, Rajeev and Rishi Kapoor, with Rishi Kapoor becoming a rage amongst cine buffs. He continues to entertain audiences with his superb performances.

Saawariya will be an acid test for newcomer Ranbir, who will be compared with his illustrious Bollywood lineage. (ANI)

SRK is not against the duo of Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor

After this film people will love me. And nobody is going to use the money to oust the goodness that I have created," SRK told in a chat.

The filmmaking business is already an expensive thing but then there is a market that is getting you that money back. I don't think you need to spend money to make money. Having said that, yes, outside players like Sony Pictures and Columbia Tristar are hugely moneyed, SRK added.

While 'Om Shanti Om' has been produced under SRK's own banner, Red Chillies Entertainment, 'Saawariya' has Hollywood studio Sony Pictures as co-producer. Both are releasing on November 9.

The King Khan is quoted to have said in a media report that he has nothing against Sanjay Leela Bhansali , who has directed him in Devdaas , saying "A role which will be remembered when I am gone".

SRK also said that he also nothing against the duo of Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor – the lead pair of 'Saawariya', saying, "they have grown up in front of me".

They also have it all -- looks, talent and the right break to make it big in the industry.

And speaking of breaks, the three upcoming 'kids' -- Ranbir Kapoor , Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are already celebrities though their films are yet to be released!

It doesn't hurt when you parents are celebs themselves, either -- actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh (Ranbir), Anil Kapoor (Sonam) and badminton legend Prakash Padukone (Deepika).

While the two Kapoors are eagerly awaiting their debut film Saawariya, Deepika is equally excited about the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Om Shanti Om.

Though the films could go either way, one thing is for sure. These youngsters are hip, happening and hot. And they are all 25 years old or younger! (Deepika is 21, Ranbir 25 and Sonam 22)

The two new upcoming stars are said to be the cutest couple in the industry. Well im talking about Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. They are very few on screen pair in the industry who look really cute together. The much talked about pair is the lead pair of Saawariya. It's the most awaited movie and everyone is looking forward to see how the new cutie pair performs. Before the release of the movie itself it has been rated as a good movie and Sonam and Ranbir have no shortage of fans. By now they have thousands of fans who are waiting to see them on screen.

I know how difficult it is to wait for such a movie but we don't have to wait long as the movie will release soon and the legend will unfold. Lets see hoe the movie goes on……… and does it goes on according to the people's expectations or not
